PSAT 8/9 

  • PSAT 8/9 will be given on April 25, 2020 to any interested 8th or 9th grade student in Moon Area School District. 
  • This is the only PSAT 8/9 for 2019-2020 
  • The cost of the test is $25 (nonrefundable) 
  • Students should enter through the student entrance at Moon High School and look for signs to direct them to their room. 
  • Students should report at 7:45 and no one will be admitted after 8:00. 
  • Bring calculator, pencils, eraser, their school ID number, and printed ticket. 
  • There are 42 Reading test questions, 40 Writing and Language test questions and 38 Math questions on the PSAT 8/9 and testing time is about 2 hours and 30 minutes. 
  • Tickets will be on sale until February 25th.

Dance Rules and Regulations

  • All tickets are non-transferable and all sales are final. 
  • Students must have cleared all obligations to purchase a ticket.
  • Students must bring a photo id to enter the dance.
  • The Holiday Ball and Senior Semi are semi-formal events. The Junior Prom is a formal event. Appropriate attire must be worn. Items such as jeans, sneakers, clothes that are dirty or contain holes, etc. are not permitted. All infractions will be up to the discretion of the sponsor and administration.
  • Recommended attire for ladies is a cocktail dress for Holiday Ball or Senior Semi and formal dress for The Prom. Recommended attire for gentlemen is a suit and tie for Holiday Ball or Senior Semi and a tuxedo for The Prom.
  • All participants must stay for the duration of the event. 
  • Upon arrival, participants must sign-in with the event sponsors and chaperones.
  • Parents or legal guardians of participants who do not check-in will be notified.
  • Any participant who damages school property, decorations, DJ equipment, etc. will be responsible for the cost to repair or replace the item.
  • All pictures will be sold separately at the event.
  • All rules and procedures of the Moon Area School District Handbook will be enforced. Disciplinary action may result from infractions.

Any student that owes a financial obligation or has not yet met remediation requirements will be denied tickets until the obligation is resolved. Submit any obligations to Mrs. Connolly in the high school main office. Email with any questions.  

*Please be aware, to have an account unlocked for meeting remediation requirements students must see one of the following teachers to receive a slip to be turned into Mrs. Durham. Accounts will not be unlocked automatically.

Ticket Types for MAHS Students

MAHS Student:

  • Ticket for currently enrolled Moon Area High School Student
  • Ticket may be denied due to attendance, behavioral records, financial obligations, or reasons determined by the administration.
  • Student ID number is required for purchase.

MAHS Student Guest:

  • Ticket for your date ... who is also a currently enrolled Moon Area High School Student
  • Ticket may be denied due to attendance, behavioral records, financial obligations, or reasons determined by administration.
  • Student ID number is required for purchase.

Ticket Types for Non-MAHS Students:

High School Student Guest: 
  • Ticket for a student currently enrolled in grade 9-12 in a neighboring high school.
  • Must submit a Guest Request Form & copy of photo id and receive approval prior to purchasing a ticket .
  • Ticket may be denied based on recommendation from home district or MAHS administration.
  • Ticket must be purchased in-person. 

Prom 2020

  • Date: May 1, 2020
  • Time: 7:30 - 11:30pm
  • Location: Airport Hyatt
  • Moon Area Students in grade 11
  • Guests may be Moon or non-Moon Area Students, currently enrolled in high school grades 9-12
  • Non-Moon Guests must fill out an approval form signed by their home school principal and be approved by a Moon Area High School principal before purchasing a ticket. 
  • Guests to any dance must be accompanied by the inviting Moon Area High School Student for the duration of the dance. 
  • If students are NOT attending the After Prom event from 11:30 PM - 2:30 AM, they must buy their ticket in person and submit a signed parent permission slip at the time of ticket purchase.
  • Each MAHS student must have a student id and emergency contact information to purchase a ticket.
